MONROE, La. (AP) — Caden Veltkamp threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns, and Ethan Ervin rushed for 139 yards and a score as Florida Atlantic beat Louisiana-Monroe 45-17 on Saturday.

FAU’s win completed a 7-0 day for the state of Florida’s seven FBS programs, just the second time the feat has happened and the first since Oct. 5, 2013.

The Owls (3-1) scored 28 points in the second quarter to turn a 7-7 tie into a 35-17 halftime lead.

Veltkamp connected with Dominique Henry for a 26-yard touchdown early in the second before Easton Messer returned a punt 73 yards for a score. Louisiana-Monroe answered 10 seconds later on Aidan Armenta’s 75-yard touchdown pass to LT Robinson.

Ervin added a 2-yard touchdown run, and Leonard Farrow scored from 1 yard out with 5 seconds left in the half.

Veltkamp found Henry again for a 36-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Henry finished with nine catches for 121 yards and two scores.

FAU finished with 577 total yards, including 245 yards rushing.

Armenta threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns for Louisiana-Monroe.
